CONCEPT

Brilliance Extracted from the Strata of Life

Art is a Gem forged by life itself. Just as immense time and geological strata give birth to exquisite gemstones, art is a one-of-a-kind brilliance condensed from the artist's own "strata of life." Deep within the earth, a beautiful gem takes shape only after enduring tremendous pressure, heat, and the passage of eons. Art is no different. Every joy, sorrow, and experience of the artist accumulates layer upon layer— and what is crystallized from within is what I believe to be true art, and a true gem. My own life has been shaped by moments of happiness and grief, cherished encounters, farewells, and countless experiences that brought me to where I am today. Please take your time and immerse yourself in these gems carved from my life.

ABOUT

Rei Miyamoto

In my childhood, I was worse at drawing than anyone else.

I used to draw comics with the neighborhood kids and show them to each other, but mine were so terrible that everyone laughed at me.
From that moment on, I became terrified of showing my drawings to others.

On the artist page, I share the journey of how someone like me came to create "GemArt,"
alongside the works themselves.
